The client does not have to be the dictation source
If your main frustration is writing the note after speech therapy, you can start with your own summary. There is no need to introduce recording during the tasks just to get help with the later writing.
Your recap can bring together what you worked on, the measures you already recorded, the support used, the response, and the next step you decided. Ordinary speech-to-text gives you that recap as a paragraph. AI drafting can arrange it into the session note.
The writing step after a recap
This fictional clinician dictation supplies all the measures, interpretation, and decisions:
"Continue the same practice next session. Today we used the picture description task. I recorded eight complete target responses out of ten with a written cue available. He said the cue helped him keep the sentence together. My assessment is that the written cue supported performance in this task. We agreed to use it again next session. He wants to use longer sentences when speaking with his grandchildren."
An illustrative SOAP draft could read:
S: Client reports that the written cue helped him keep the sentence together. Would like to use longer sentences with his grandchildren.
O: Picture description task completed with a written cue available. Clinician recorded eight complete target responses out of ten.
A: Clinician assesses that the written cue supported performance in this task.
P: Agreed to use the written cue and continue the same practice next session.
The measure has not been calculated by the software; it was in the dictation. The useful work is combining the repeated next-step statements and arranging the account so it is easier to finish as a note.
Keep the recap separate from the working measures
Astralcyte makes the transcript and SOAP draft on your device. You can dictate after the session using the observations and measures in your working record, then edit the text and copy it into the patient record.
This adds help with writing without changing how you record the task results during the session.
Keep the words on your device
Your recording, transcript, and note stay in encrypted storage. Astralcyte does not receive them, as described in the privacy policy. You can use AI for the first draft without uploading the client's session details to another company.
