Is there an alternative to a subscription?+
We believe in one-time pricing where possible. Subscription pricing allows us to provide updates and new AI models as AI capabilities improve over time. But if you prefer to pay once and use it forever, Astralcyte Notes also has a perpetual license purchase option.
Does Astralcyte Notes upload session audio?+
Never. Capture, transcription, and note generation all take place on your device. This can be done without an internet connection. Furthermore, we take extra safety measures to ensure you are not keeping a session recording around: All audio is permanently, cryptographically destroyed as soon as the transcript is complete. You can also choose to either keep or destroy transcripts.
What happens when I replace my computer?+
Your license is for a number of devices. Deactivate your previous device in Astralcyte Notes, then activate the new device. If you no longer have access to the old device, contact activation support.
Can my notes be recovered if I lose my passphrase and my recovery key?+
Locally encrypted means encrypted. Without either your passphrase or your recovery key no one can read your notes, not even us. If you lose only your passphrase, you can still unlock your vault with your recovery key.
Are AI Generated Notes Accurate?+
AI can make mistakes. Local AI may make mistakes slightly more often than online models. You should review every note for mistakes. Astralcyte Notes is not a substitute for your expert clinician judgement.
