The final note can be selective while the upload is not
Social-work discussions can include a client, relatives, agency staff, and people mentioned who are not present. The agency note may need only the part relevant to a particular contact. A scribe processing the full recording still receives the rest.
This distinction matters if an online tool already saves you time writing. Making its output shorter does not make the recording or transcript it received shorter. The privacy improvement from laptop-based drafting starts before that transfer.
One meeting, two very different amounts of information
Imagine this fictional discussion: a client asks about getting to an appointment. While explaining why family transport is unavailable, they name a relative, describe a disagreement at home, and mention that another family member is away. The worker and client review the bus timetable and agree that the worker will ask about afternoon appointments.
The agency note could say:
"Reviewed transport to the service. Client reported that the morning bus would arrive too early and preferred an afternoon appointment if available. Worker will ask the service about afternoon availability."
That note does not contain the relatives' names or the household explanation. An online scribe given the full meeting could still receive those details. This is a fictional example of the difference between a conversation and its final note.
| What the discussion contains | What the note needs for this contact |
|---|---|
| Family names and a household disagreement | The relevant transport difficulty, without reproducing the family discussion |
| Several possible ways to reach the service | The option discussed and the client's stated preference |
| Discussion of the next action | The worker's agreed follow-up |
Keep writing assistance without giving away the fuller discussion
Astralcyte transcribes and drafts on your device. You can use the meeting recording or a short recap, edit the note, and copy it into the agency record. Its privacy policy explains that the company never receives the recording, transcript, or note through the app.
The agency receives the text you choose to file. The scribe company receives none of the fuller family discussion, including material omitted from the note. Encrypted storage protects the working text on your device.
That is the practical reason to prefer this approach: keep the help with writing without making the software company another holder of information about everyone mentioned.
