The note is only part of what you share
An AI scribe can be useful precisely because you do not have to dictate a finished note. It takes a conversation and produces something shorter and better organized. But the finished note is not a full account of what the software received.
A consultation may include a family disagreement, worries about employment, or a patient correcting an earlier statement. A cloud scribe that works from the recording receives those details before deciding what belongs in the note. Leaving them out of the chart does not undo that transfer.
Three different promises
It helps to distinguish three claims that can sound similar in a product description:
- Not used for training. This describes a use the company rules out. It does not mean the company never receives the consultation.
- Deleted after processing. This describes what happens after the company has received the material.
- Processed on your device. The recording can become a transcript and note without going to the scribe company.
These promises answer different questions. For a physician who wants the writing assistance but does not want another company to possess the consultation, the third changes the situation at the start. There is no provider-held clinical copy to protect or delete.
Keep the drafting step
Astralcyte turns speech into text and drafts the note on your device. SOAP, medical history and physical, and medical consultation formats are available. You can record the visit or dictate your summary afterward.
The output is still a draft you can edit and copy into your chart. Choosing local drafting does not mean returning to a blank note field or limiting yourself to a verbatim transcript. The app handles the writing and arrangement from the information you supply.
Keep more than the signed note private
Astralcyte's privacy policy covers session audio, transcripts, and generated or edited notes. Those materials are not sent to the company. They stay in encrypted storage on your device.
The privacy gain covers the patient's wider conversation as well as the concise note that reaches the chart. A company can leak patient information it receives. Astralcyte cannot leak a consultation from servers that never receive it.
