The chart and the writing tool do different jobs

A patient-record system can organize appointments, medications, measurements, and the formal record while still leaving you to write the visit note. Adding a separate drafting tool can address that writing without changing where the practice keeps its records.

This can be a practical fit if you already write text elsewhere and paste it into the chart, or if your EHR gives you a text field for the main note. The new tool supplies an editable draft for that part of the work.

It is useful to identify that part precisely. A draft of visit text and completion of structured EHR fields are different tasks. Compare the writing the app replaces with the actual chart work you do, rather than treating every minute in the EHR as time an AI draft will remove.

A familiar route from spoken summary to chart entry

After an appointment, you can dictate the summary you would otherwise type. Astralcyte makes the transcript and drafts in your chosen format on your device. You edit the text and explicitly copy the finished note into the patient record.

For example, a clinician might use an evaluation draft for the written account while the measurements remain in the EHR fields where they were originally entered. The draft helps with the report; the existing chart continues to hold the underlying record.

If you need historical findings reflected in the draft, you can include them in the summary you dictate. Astralcyte uses the recording you supply; it does not retrieve previous visits from the EHR.

An explicit transfer makes the information shared easy to identify

The EHR receives the note you choose to copy. The scribe does not need chart access to prepare that text, and the fuller conversation does not need to be sent to the EHR merely because it was used to write the note.

Finish the wording at the point that fits your normal signing process. Once text is copied into another system, edits there and edits in the drafting app are separate. The practical benefit is a clear, familiar transfer, with the chart remaining the place the practice uses for the final record.

If your current tools already file automatically, manual transfer is a real difference to include in a purchase decision. For a clinician currently typing the note into a chart, an editable first draft can still remove a substantial writing step without that connection.

Add writing assistance without another clinical upload

Astralcyte stores its working records encrypted and performs transcription and drafting locally. Its privacy policy explains that the recording, transcript, and draft are not sent to the company.

You can therefore keep your established patient-record system and add help where you currently compose the text. The chart gets the note you file, while the software provider never gets the patient conversation used to prepare it.
